Useful Passenger Information

• The Carrier undertakes to use its best efforts to carry the passenger and his/her luggage with reasonable dispatch. Schedules are subject to alteration or cancellation without prior notice. The Carrier assumes no responsibility for maintenance of passengers, if for any reason whatsoever, the vessel is detained at any port or if a voyage is delayed or cancelled due to “Force Majeur”. Passengers should check the departure date/time 24 hours prior to departure, during opening office hours (08h45-16h30).

• The Carrier disclaims responsibility for any additional or forfeited hotel fees, inland or air/sea transportation fees, guided tour fees, booking cancellation fees etc…, which, as a result of unexpected changes in the ship’s schedule/itinerary, may have to be borne by the passenger.

• Prospective passengers aged 65 yrs +
• Pregnant women shall supply a medical certificate that has been issued 3 days prior the departure date specifying the number of weeks of pregnancy and their ability to undertake the voyage.

The Carrier will not be able to accommodate women who have entered their 20th week of pregnancy.

Please declare any medicinal drug prescription to the Master and Doctor (e.g. Insulin) – also carry your medicines & medical certificate in your hand luggage.

Only “Bona Fide” personal effects are accepted as part of the free luggage allowance.

• Adult: – 2 pieces  (max allowable volume 0,20³ per suitcase / package) –
  

• Child (less than 12 yrs) :- 1piece suitcase/box

Weight per suitcase or per package should not exceed 22 kgs-(max allowable volume 0,20³ per suitcase / package).

Only a small handbag (containing essential personal effects needed during the sea journey) will be allowed to remain in the custody of each passenger when boarding the vessel.

Surplus luggage, if accepted on board, will be charged at the current excess luggage rates:-

• Rodrigues Route: MUR 300 / per package not exceeding 0.125m³

•  Reunion :- EUR 20 or MUR 850 / per package not exceeding 0.125m³

Merchandise  is not allowed to be carried as passenger’s baggage. Should you wish to transport these items, please contact our freight department.

Short stay – family or tourist trip of a duration lesser than 3 months*

The following documents should be produced prior ticket purchase and upon arrival in Reunion Island :-

• Travel document: passport with a minimum validity of 3 months as from the date of exit
• Return ticket to Mauritius or any other except Schengen countries
• Proof of medical coverage abroad: you should be insured for a minimum amount of EURO 30,000, including the repatriation of the corpse in case of death
• Evidence of Accommodation facilities: either a confirmed hotel reservation for your entire stay or if you are staying with friends or family, original of “Attestation d’Accueil” that your host has to request at the City Hall or lease agreement in case you are renting a house/appartment/studio
• Proof of financial means: if staying at a hotel EURO 65 per person per day, if at a relative EURO 32,50 per person per day

* (Note: MSCL has temporarily stopped Passenger and Cargo services to and from Reunion)

The following documents will have to be produced by passengers travelling to and from Rodrigues in relation to their identification:-

Note 1-Full age means 18 years and above.

Note 2– A Minor is a person who has not attained the age of 18 years.

Passport & Immigration Office 

Parents and/or Accompanying adult will have to sign this form prior to ticket purchase.

In case of ticket cancellation or modification of voyage date, subject to ship’s schedule and accommodation availability, the following fees or booking surcharge will apply in addition to the administrative fee:

(i)       120 hours or more before departure: 10% of ticket value : 5 days or more

(ii)     72 hours or more before departure: 30% of ticket value : 3 days or more  

(iii)    48 hours or more before departure: 50% of ticket value : 2 days or more 

No refund will normally be effected if tickets are returned less than 48 hours prior to sailing, whether the prospective passenger wishes to modify his voyage date or not.

No request for refund will be entertained after 3 months of voyage date.

Unless specifically agreed and officially endorsed thereon by the Carrier or his representative, passage tickets remain valid for a maximum period of 3 months.
